| The Llewellin Setter
The Llewellin Setter is often referred to as the
Sportsman's Choice. He is a very devoted dog whose only desire is to
please their master. The true Llewellin Setter must be FDSB registered
with American Field.
The Llewellin originated in the mid 1800s when a gentleman name R. L. Purcell Llewellin set out to breed the finest field trial he could. Today the Llewellin can be traced back to the Duke-Rhoebe cross of Dan and Dick, the start of the Llewellin line. For decades the Llewellins dominated the field trails until format changes favored the bigger running dogs. Llewellins by nature are easily trained and require very little or no force. They are a very affeciate animal and make very good companions. The Llewellins in this Kennel are close or mid-range all day hunters and are all FDSB registered. All the Sires and Dams are DNA certified. They hunt pheasant, ruffed grouse, quail and chukkar regularly. If you hunt for the love of the hunt the is the dogs you will enjoy. I am at least a third generation bird hunter. I have hunted from the State of Mississippi to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan . I enjoy hunting over these dogs more than any other dogs I have been in the field with. Ronald G. Mitchell |
